Diana Rigg and Doctor Who

My worlds just collided a bit this morning, or perhaps this bit of casting for Doctor Who was inevitable. But Dame Diana Rigg is going to be in an episode of the upcoming season of Doctor Who.  Oh, and Mark Gatiss is doing the writing. Full details here. I actually saw Rigg on stage with David Suchet in a 1996 production of Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf. I think it’s still the most powerful performance of seen to date, although the Dallas Theater Center‘s A Doll’s House from the early 1990s is a close second based on Susan Gibney’s performance as Nora.
