Song of the Day: Frank Turner and The Sleeping Souls, “The Fisher King Blues”

One of the standouts on Frank Turner’s new album Tape Deck Heart. It’s unfortunately positioned right before the world’s most depressing break up song, so if you’re listening on the album you go from the great high of this song to the melancholy low of “Anymore.” I’m not knocking “Anymore”; it’s a tightly written lyrical ballad. It’s just a bit of sonic whiplash, especially after the hopefulness of “The Fisher King Blues.”

Bonus: Frank Turner explaining the lyrics.
