It’s been a lazy weekend, interrupted by spurts of productivity. I cleaned, actually grocery shopped, did class prep, and I’m currently baking pies and about to embark on grading. It’s the inevitable calm before the rest of November smacks me upside the head. For some reason, NPR’s Thistle and Shamrock puts me in the baking mood, while also providing great working music. Sadly, it’s only an hour long, so I’m extending the effect with some Mumford and Sons. Give me another month, and it’ll be the Jim Henson and the Muppets Christmas album.
Ah, the first pie of the trip. I went with the traditional apple a la mode. Simply heavenly, but I’m glad I’m not driving next so I can concentrate on world cup final updates.
Here’s some of the pile of work I still have to wrap up before leaving for Dallas. The time to the trip is now measured in papers graded rather than months. I kind of like that, but I have to make it through the grading to get to the floating, pie eating, coach purse buying, and traveling portion of this program.
